- Jay Parmer, Nevada Manufacturers Association, explains that while Nevada will always be a tourism driven state, manufacturing is a very helpful part of employment opportunities in terms of wages and benefits. He adds that around 50 percent of manufacturing jobs require a high school diploma, so for kids who aren’t college bound, manufacturing provides a great opportunity for employment after high school.
